 DCMA start to deliver the 12 hours Paediatric First Aid as 6 hours home based theory and 6 hours course based practical.


DCMA stop delivering CACHE units but continue delivering Becoming a Childminder Training Course by distance learning.   DCMA start to deliver 12 hour Paediatric First Aid courses in one day.


DCMA is 30 years old !!

DCMA introduce and deliver the CACHE Level 2 Award in Paediatric First Aid


DCMA expand the range of CACHE qualifications on offer, this now includes the full range of Children and Young People Qualifications Suite, Foundation Learning Qualfications Suite and Assessing and Assuring the Quality of Assessments Qualifications Suite.

DCMA celebrate achieving 25 years as a successful Registered Charity with a series of events around Devon. 

DCMA began delivery of two training courses Assertiveness and Children's Rights.


DCMA introduced the CACHE course Understand How to Set up a Homebased Childcare Service.

DCMA gained funding to deliver free training in March; Food Safety Awareness and Risk Assessment.


DCMA introduced the CACHE award Introduction to Childcare Practice as a distance learning course.

DCMA received Awards for All funding to deliver a Childminding Conference in November.

DCMA Toy Library in Plym View School closed due to the School reclaiming the space.

DCMA website featured the DCMA Shop in conjunction with PayPal.

The Charity Commission sanctioned the changing of DCMA's consitution to remove Devon as the area of benefit, enabling DCMA to expand and deliver services to a wider audience.


DCMA website featured the DCMA Toy Library Catalogue.

DCMA introduced the CACHE award Diploma in Home-based Childcare as a distance learning course.

DCMA began the delivery of Food Safety Awareness and Risk Assessment training.


A very successful year for DCMA;

DCMA became an Approved CACHE Centre.

DCMA received Awards for All funding to celebrate their 21st Anniversary.

DCMA team were nominated Finalists for Children's Stars 4Children.

DCMA began the delivery of Paediatric First Aid Training Courses.


DCMA opened our second Toy Library in Plym View School, Plymouth.

DCMA website was redesigned and became more interactive.


DCMA recruited Support Childminders to work alongside Development Workers, providing local links to childminders for prospective childminders.


DCMA supported Childminders through the changes when Ofsted became the regulatory body for the Inspection of Childcare.


DCMA opened a Toy Library in Weston Mill, Plymouth.


DCMA developed Children Come First Childminding Networks, establising 6 Childminding Networks which were approved and Accredited to provide Early Years Funded sessions for 3 and 4 year olds.


DCMA's newsletter Keeping in Touch was circulated quarterly for the first time.


DCMA established and supported over 50 Childminding Groups.


First Aid subsidies introduced in Devon to encourage childminders to gain a recognised First Aid Qualification - not compulsory by Law at this stage.


DCMA's newsletter Keeping in Touch established, being circulated termly.


DCMA's Basic Childminding Course was introduced.


DCMA supported Childminders through the changes to registration and the new National Standards when The Children Act, 1989 was introduced.
