Becoming a Childminder

Becoming a Childminder

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework states;

"3.24 Childminders must have completed training which helps them to understand and implement the EYFS before they can register with Ofsted or a childminder agency."

"3.25 Childminders must hold a current paediatric first aid certificate."

The aim of our course is to prepare you to set up as a registered childminder and it meets the requirements of EYFS framework.  We also provide Paediatric First Aid training, you can make a saving on the cost of both by purchasing them together below.

Our Becoming a Childminder course will provide training in the following areas:

The business side of childminding including financial accounts, marketing and policies

Safeguarding and welfare requirements to include keeping children safe both in the setting and when out and about, supervision and risk assessments.

The learning and development requirements, observations, assessments, planning taking into account childrens learning styles.

Learn from home, set your own timescales:

The course is delivered by distant learning. Studying in this way allows you to learn in your own time without having to leave home, make arrangements for childcare, or try to find new locations in the rush hour.  You can start when it suits you, so no need to wait for a course to become available.  You are assigned an assessor who is available via telephone and email and will help you with your learning and offer your guidance to complete your course handbook.

Guided learning hours for the course are 29 but you can work at your own pace; complete it in two weeks, a month or longer if you prefer!
